Associate Therapist - Open Position

Who we are:

Body Positive Therapy NYC is a speciality group practice focused on helping folks of all ages, sizes, and gender expressions recover from eating disorders, disordered eating, and body-image injury. We offer inclusive and integrative psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, and families.

In addition to her clinical work, founder Zoë Bisbing LCSW is also the director of Body-Positive Home, an educational resource through which she offers workshops and support groups to parents, professionals, and students about how to boost body-positivity for a more embodied and inclusive next generation.

Who you are:

We’re seeking a new associate therapist to join the practice. You’ll build a caseload of patients and gain expertise in specialized clinical work and in the business of running a private practice, equipping you to begin your own practice upon licensure. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to Body-Positive Home, with flexibility to focus on areas and skills where you’re interested in learning and growing.

• Clinical hours which count towards LCSW licensure

Your qualifications:

• LMSW (NYS license required)

• Availability to see clients in-person and remotely (office located in Chelsea section of Manhattan)

• Excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Experience and/or interest in working with eating disorders, body image, and Health At Every Size(R)

• A commitment to social justice, neurodivergent, gender, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.

• Interest in learning how a private practice operates

• Interest in engaging with varied opportunities outside of clinical sessions (possibilities include leading student workshops, running short term groups, creating social media content, and blog posts)

• Experience in your own personal therapy (you will not be asked to disclose anything about this)
